DRAGOSLAV KOVACEVIC 1959 - 2008 Dragoslav or Kova as his friends and family knew him was born in Sarajevo on March 17, 1959 to Borislav and Brana Kovacevic. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Mechanical Science from Sarajevo University. Following his graduation he married the love of his life, Ljiljana Zlatanovic. Afterwards, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Irena. In 1999, Kova and his family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. An avid model collector, anything from little soldiers to huge airplanes and ships, he painstakingly assembled and painted each one himself. In addition, he had an incredible ear for music, and often astounded people with his knowledge. Kova loved soccer. His goal keeping skills will be sorely missed by his teammates. A very well organized person, diligent and hard-working, Kova would never do anything just to do it, rather he would take his time and do it well. Kova passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 0:52, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Health Sciences Centre. He battled colo-rectal cancer for 13 months. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ljiljana, and loving daughter, Irena and also by his sister, Mira and father Borislav, in Sarajevo. Cremation has taken place and friends will meet this weekend to celebrate his life.
